Junior Hordes 5 – 10th December 2016

UC Crew is proud to present Junior Hordes 5. This will be our fifth Break Dancing competition dedicated to improving the confidence, experience and skills of young break dancers across Lancashire and Merseyside.

Confirmed crews are UC Crew from St Helens and Knowsley, UDP from Blackpool, FY West Coast from Blackpool, Base Dance from Ormskirk and Riot Session from Liverpool.

Last year the competition was fierce with Jade from Blackpool winning the Intermediate level competition and Dylan from St Helens winning the Beginner level competitions.

We’re expecting the level to rise this year for the last Break Dancing competition of Lancashire and Merseyside for the year, so please save the date. 10th December 2016

UC Crew win at Wigan Premier Street Dance Championship

UC Crew was victorious winning several trophies at the prestigious ‘Wigan Premier Street Dance Championship’.

It was an extra special day for our crews as it was the first time that they have entered a street dance competition and danced in front of such a large audience. A street dance competition is unlike a break dancing battle which is a competitive dance battle 1 vs 1, the format consisted of all dancers performing moves for three minutes whilst judges picked the best of the group.

Our dancers embraced this new format of competition, it was tiring break dancing for so long but we was victorious and proud of their achievements.

They will be competing again at ‘Calling You Out Street Dance Championships’ in Knowsley, Merseyside.

Charlotte & Charlie apply to Rainhill Rotary Club, Dragons Den 2016 for UC Crew

.Rainhill Dragons - UC Crew

Charlotte aged 10 and Charlie aged 12 have applied to the ‘Rainhill Rotary Club’, Dragon’s Den 2016 charity bid challenge.

Our two young aspiring leaders have applied for £500 to start a new class for teenagers and adults in St Helens, due to reduced numbers as a result of our senior members moving into jobs, further education, travelling the world or moving out of the area. A new class for teenagers and adults will enable UC Crew to continue operating into 2017 and give us much needed funding so that it can become self sustainable again and make a big difference in the community.

Charlotte and Charlie are hoping that the application will be successful so that they can still have a place to practice in 2017 as they are now attending or moving into senior school and will no longer be with the junior members of UC Crew. The fate is in the hands of the ‘Rainhill Rotary Club’, Dragons but Charlotte and Charlie feel that they can persuade the dragons with a pitch from the heart and some dancing to save our award winning crew and invest in our future community leaders.
