UC Crew Nominated for National Youth Award

UC Crew have been short listed for prestigious national youth participation award

Local youth organisation UC Crew who work in St Helens are delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted for a national award by the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS) for their excellent work in youth participation.

The NCVYS Young Partners Award is supported and funded by BIG Lottery. The award celebrates and recognises youth leadership and what young people can achieve through working in equal partnership with adults in organisations and projects.

UC Crew have been working in partnership with young people to deliver exciting events, performances, practice sessions and lessons in St Helens for 6 years and will continue to inspire other groups to do the same, this award will help up to share out best practice and experiences across the UK.

The awards, which is planned and organised by members of NCVYS’s national youth forum, ENVOY, are divided into four award categories, which are the Midlands, North, South and national category. Each currently have three shortlisted nominees.

Each organisation will now prepare and deliver a youth participation workshop at the NCVYS regional showcase events throughout August which will determine the winner in each award category.

NCVYS will announce the winner for each award category on Saturday 15 October 2011 at the awards ceremony which will have over 150 attendees, which will include young performers, photographers, interviewers and videographers.
